Summer Weekend Guide

New York City is known for always being ahead of the trend & thinking outside of the box. The summer events currently taking place in the city of dreams & high humidity, say none-the-less and make everyone who does not live in NYC kinda wish they did. The hot summer days are only getting well hotter & while boozing and beaching can help cool you down, we’ve found some other fun weekend activities to do the trick.

MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM – (no, we are not kidding- this is a real thing) Museum of Ice Cream which opens its doors today will include a swimmable rainbow ‘sprinkle’ pool, edible balloons, an immersive chocolate room and a collaborative massive ice cream sundae. Guests will swing on an ice cream sandwich made for two, seesaw on an ice cream scooper and find their match/favorite flavor on a custom app in Tinder Land. Visitors will indulge in an exclusive, one-of-a-kind ice cream tasting created by food futurist and overall rad scientist Dr. Irwin Adam, founder of Future Food Studio. Visual designs from renowned NYC artists will serve as the cherry on top of this modern, whimsical urban ice cream playground. This is one museum, not to be missed. 100 Gansevoort Street

Waterfight NYC 2016 will be going down this Saturday, July 30. The annual event brings kids-at-heart together to duke it out super-soaker style while getting thoroughly drenched in the process. If you’re not afraid to get a little wet, pick up one of the recommended “weapons” for the event (water guns, super soakers, squirt guns, spray bottles and water blaster) and head to the park for an afternoon of battle from 2-5pm. Sheep Meadow, Central Park, Saturday

POETRY FESTIVAL-If your summer has been all about the day-partying here’s a festival that might give you that intellectual void you’ve been looking for. Don’t worry there will still be tons of food & drinking options accompanying over 200 poets who come out to strut their best works. Governor’s Island, Saturday & Sunday
